Signs and symptoms Red or white bumps. You might notice small red or white bumps on your baby's face. These can become more pronounced when your baby is fussy or during feeding. Mild swelling Some babies might show signs of mild swelling around the acne spots. Management tips Gentle care Wash your baby's face daily with warm water and mild baby soap. Pat the skin dry gently, do not scrub. Avoid oils and lotions. It's best to avoid applying oils and lotions to affected areas, as these can exacerbate the condition. Skip the acne medications. Never use acne medications or treatments intended for older children and adults on your baby, unless prescribed by your pediatrician when to see a doctor. Baby acne typically clears up on its own, without treatment, within a few weeks to a few months. However, if you notice severe or persistent acne or if it spreads to other parts of the body, it's a good idea to consult your pediatrician to rule out other conditions.
